How to Use and Apply Semaglutide
This one-page guide explains how to properly use Semaglutide for optimal results when injected.
Step 1: Gather Your Supplies
You will need the following:
- Semaglutide vial (5mg or 10mg)
- Bacteriostatic water (2ml)
- Insulin syringe (1ml)
- Alcohol swabs
- Sharps container for disposal
Step 2: Mixing the Solution
- Draw 2ml of bacteriostatic water into a 1ml insulin syringe.
- Inject the bacteriostatic water into the Semaglutide vial.
- Do not shake the vial. Instead, gently squeeze it between your palms.
- Allow the solution to fully dissolve before use.
Step 3: Administering Your Dose
For the 5mg Vial
- 0.1ml = 0.25mg of Semaglutide
- Adjust your dose based on your doctor's recommendation.
For the 10mg Vial
- 0.1ml = 0.5mg of Semaglutide
- Adjust your dose based on your physician's recommendation.
- Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab (abdomen or thigh is most common).
- Use an insulin syringe to draw up your prescribed dose.
- Inject subcutaneously at a 90-degree angle.
- Dispose of used syringes in a sharps container.
Semaglutide Dose Escalation Roadmap
To reduce side effects and allow your body to adjust, follow this dose escalation plan:
- Weeks 1-4: 0.25mg once a week
- Weeks 5-8: 0.5mg once a week
- Weeks 9-12: 0.75mg once a week
- Weeks 13-16: 1.25mg once a week
- Weeks 17+: 2.5mg once a week (maintenance dose if well tolerated)
